ASTI-100
  • Component types: bearing roller ends, balls, hydrostatics (e.g., swashplates), gears, engine components (e.g., tappets)
  • Applications: oil-off, starved, or poor lubrication conditions; reduced sliding friction; adhesive wear protection

ASTI-200
  • Nanocrystalline TiC in amorphous hydrocarbon matrix
  • Stable to 250° C 
  • Reduce friction & wear in sliding applications
  • Component types: bearing roller ends, bearing roller bodies, balls, hydrostatics (e.g., swashplates), gears, engine components (e.g., tappets, rollers, axles)
  • Applications: oil-off, starved, or poor lubrication conditions; reduced sliding friction; adhesive wear protection; moderate rolling contact fatigue improvement

ASTI-300

  • Nanocrystalline WC in amorphous hydrocarbon matrix
  • Stable to 350° C 
  • Used to reduce wear in sliding applications
  • Component types: bearing roller ends, bearing roller bodies, balls, hydrostatics components, gears, engine components, balls, gear shafts, precision pins (e.g., fuel injector plungers)
  • Applications: oil-off, starved, or poor lubrication conditions; reduced sliding friction; adhesive wear protection; moderate rolling contact fatigue improvement and debris damage tolerance

ASTI-301

  • Component types: hydrostatics components, engine components (e.g., roller finger followers), gear shafts, precision pins (e.g., fuel injector plungers)
  • Applications: sliding contact applications where low friction and superior wear resistance are required; the nominally pure DLC top layer also provides chemical inertness and some limited measure of corrosion resistance

ASTI-302

  • Nanocrystalline WC in amorphous hydrocarbon matrix
  • Stable to 350° C 
  • Used to reduce wear and extend fatigue life on bearings and gears
  • Component types: bearing roller bodies and ends, gears, engine components, balls
  • Applications: superior rolling contact or rolling/sliding contact coating durability for poorly lubricated (low-lambda) or debris contaminated environments resulting in increased bearing fatigue life; improved gear surface fatigue life, scoring, and micropitting protection; otherwise similar benefits to ASTI-200 and ASTI-300

ASTI-601
  • Diamondlike Carbon - Stable up to 300° C 
  • Reduces wear and friction in manufacturing, biomedicine, automotive, and machinery applications
  • Component types: bearing components, gears, pins and shafts, engine components, hydrostatics components, balls
  • Applications: wear resistance, low friction, low cost (but lesser adhesion than reactively sputtered films)

ASTI-602
  • Diamondlike Carbon - Stable up to 300° C 
  • Reduces wear and friction in manufacturing, biomedicine, automotive, and machinery applications
  • Component types: bearing components, gears, pins and shafts, airfoils, deicing equipment, engine components, hydrostatics components, balls
  • Applications: wear resistance, low friction, low cost (but lesser adhesion than reactively sputtered films), hydrophobicity, deicing properties, moderate corrosion protection

ASTI-700
  • PVD Silver - Stable up to 700° C 
  • Solid Lubricant, Anti-Microbial, Anti-Reflective, Electrically Conductive
  • Component types: balls (in particular using Timken-designed ball manipulation tooling) 
  • Applications: solid lubricant for high temperature ball bearings in vacuo
